The Pillars of Islam

بني الإسلام على خمس : شهادة أن لا إله إلا الله ، وأن محمدا رسول الله ، وإقام الصلاة ، وإيتاء الزكاة ، وحج البيت ، وصوم رمضان (البخاري ومسلم)
The Prophet (Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him), says that Islam is built upon five (pillars), To testify that there is no God except Allah and that Muhammad (Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him) is Allah’s Messenger, To Establish the Prayer, To Give the Zakah, To Perform Hajj of the House (of Allah) and to Fast the Month of Ramadan. (Recorded by Bukhari and Muslim)

  • (Shahadah)

The Shahadah is Islam's central declaration of faith, affirming belief in one God, Allah, and recognizing Muhammad as His messenger, encapsulating the essence of Islamic monotheism.
  • (PRAYER)

Prayer, or Salah, is a fundamental practice in Islam involving prescribed rituals and supplications. Muslims perform five daily prayers facing the Kaaba in Mecca, fostering spiritual connection and mindfulness.
  • (FASTING)

Fasting, or Sawm, is a significant Islamic practice observed during Ramadan, abstaining from food, drink, and other physical needs from dawn until sunset. It fosters spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and empathy.
  • (ALMSGIVING)

Almsgiving, or Zakat, is a mandatory pillar of Islam involving the giving of a portion of one's wealth to those in need. It promotes social welfare, solidarity, and economic justice.
  • (PILGRIMAGE)

Pilgrimage, or Hajj, is a sacred journey to the holy city of Mecca, undertaken by Muslims at least once in their lifetime if able. It signifies unity, submission, and spiritual renewal.
